Rest to Reset

Clarifies what rest is, why it matters and importantly, how to do it.

As a society, we are more exhausted than ever before but despite hearing the call to relax, many of us find it hard to switch off. We see busyness as a badge of honour but, ask yourself, does this approach to life work for you?

Rest is a felling of ease, a calm, peaceful state. It is characterised by an absence of overstimulation, effort, striving or pushing. We need restful downtime to heal and restore the mind and body, to recharge, to create space for reflection, for time to digest and process physically and emotionally. The skill of relaxation is also fundamental to our ability to sleep. Far from being lazy, rest can be the most productive choice possible.

In this session we clarify what rest is, why it matters and importantly, how to do it.

We explore restorative practices that you can weave into your day – some in stillness, some involving movement, some you can do whilst at work and others that can be the perfect gateway to sleep.

You’ll learn about the concept of ‘mindful downtime’, exploring alternatives to sedentary screen time and how to incorporate rest and recovery into your daily schedule. We will share practical strategies for achieving this including breath work, stretching and a powerful restorative practice.

Participants will also experience a guided relaxation practice that can form their evening wind down ritual, and leave the session with a practical toolkit to incorporate and prioritise more rest into their day.

This session will not only revolutionise your relationship with rest but ultimately your relationship with yourself.
