Managing Grief

Shares a toolkit of ways of not only surviving grief (in all its forms), but living well alongside it.

Our speaker Lizzie is a grief investigator, film and podcast producer, sharing her own grief story and how she learned to live well alongside her loss, navigating a new landscape and accommodating it in her life. With over 20 years of personal and professional experience she shares her toolkit with ideas on how to adapt to change.

This session is for anyone going through, or supporting their colleagues through bereavement, divorce, diagnosis and workplace change – any major life changes resulting in loss. And as many of us grieve our loss of freedom as a result of the pandemic, Lizzie provides hope and positive suggestions to move forward.

This session will cover:

  • The physical aspects of grief

  • Does time heal?

  • Understanding accumulative and anticipatory grief

  • Is closure possible or necessary in grief?

  • How teams can support each other with less fear around those difficult conversations

  • Lizzie’s toolkit for managing grief

Participants will leave the session feeling empowered and equipped with understanding and practical ways to support each other through times of loss.

‘Lizzie’s compassionate and personal approach to grief and loss resonated very powerfully indeed with the team. Since her visit I’ve received more emails and comments from staff who feel her advice was invaluable - and how they feel their personal resilience will be impacted by her words - than after any other visiting speaker..’
