Part One: Building Personal Resilience in a Fast Paced World (90-minute interactive virtual training)

Rapid, repeating change and continuing uncertainty at many levels can take a toll on our inner resources and, over time, erode the psychological wellbeing of even the most resilient among us. Whilst a bit of upset is manageable, if this tips too far, and for too long, we can end up in a downward spiral without realising it.

Focussing on building skills of personal resilience in order to take excellent care of our mental and emotional health has never been more important in the midst of a global crisis.

In this science-based interactive session we will explore:

  • Resilience as the importance of learning to take care of our psychological wellbeing.

  • The main challenges we are juggling personally and some facts and figures about how we are coping.

  • Normal behavioural, mental and emotional reactions that people experience in challenging times and the underlying science behind this.

  • Burnout - what it is, how to spot it, how to prevent it and what to do about it.

  • Practical day to day ways to cultivate resilience and happiness encompassing physical, mental, emotional and social aspects, including finding emotional balance and mental clarity, and fostering a strong sense of self.

  • Longer term strategies and practical steps to help us adapt, play to our strengths, feel ok inside, and both do well and stay well.

Part Two: Creating a Resilient Culture (90-minute interactive virtual training)

Some of the most powerful factors in terms of our wellbeing and our performance are our relationships with others and ambience of the working environment. As this working environment is now often both virtual and physical, putting additional effort into embedding these factors in day to day practices pays huge dividends.

How do we maintain a sense of connectedness and alignment? What replaces the casual workplace meet-ups where personal and business matters are often learned about, shared and solved? How do we know how people are really feeling? How do we create collective resilience?

Following on from part one, when we looked at building personal presence and wellbeing, in part two we will examine:

  • Some facts and figures about current workplace mental health, noticing when someone might be struggling, and what to do.

  • The role of values, purpose and integrity as ‘stabilisers” when the going gets tough: evidence, science and practice

  • How to cultivate and maintain trust and high quality inter-personal communication: a simple practical model

  • Psychological safety, what builds it, what erodes it and why it matters: what do we take a stand for?

  • Shared practices to make wellbeing the norm in a resilient culture of presence and excellence.
