How to Tame your Inner Critic

Explains what 'imposter syndrome' is, where it comes from, and how to transform critical self-thinking and limiting beliefs into a more positive and confident inner voice.

You've probably heard the term 'imposter syndrome' but not many of us really know what it is or how it manifests itself deep within us.

Imposter syndrome is a mind trap that leaves you with an intense feeling of self-doubt. It’s when despite evidence that you are successful, you still fear that you are going to be caught out as not good enough.

Despite how little this is spoken about in professional circles, research has found 70% of successful people feel like this at some point. From Sheryl Sandberg (COO of Facebook) to Michelle Obama (needs no introduction), to Emma Watson and even Einstein himself, there are countless examples of highly successful individuals being taunted by their inner critic.

These thoughts are driven by our unconscious, which serves to keep us alive rather than to help us thrive. It’s our mind trying to help and protect us but is going about it in a really unhelpful way. These thoughts impact our health, productivity and self-belief. But it is possible to tame the inner critic, and this workshop will show you how.

Throughout this interactive talk we'll delve into what imposter syndrome is, where it comes from in us and what causes it to rear its ugly head over and over.

Then we'll get down to embracing your inner imposter. Yes that's right - making friends with that negative inner voice and placating it and using it to drive you forwards even when you are full of self doubt.

We'll work on quietening down that negative, inner voice and begin to replace it with your inner mentor - your more positive voice and inner role model to increase your self belief so you feel more confident and courageous in your work and across your life.

Finally, we'll create your best self exploring your strengths and skills so that you feel empowered to continue to grow your self-belief.
